What Would You Do?

  • Ages 5–8
  • About 15–20 minutes
  • Printable PDF · 2 pages · US Letter

Children read (or listen to) three short scenarios, circle a choice, and talk about what might happen next. The final page lists trusted adults they can go to for help.

How to do it

  1. Print both pages.
  2. Read each short story aloud.
  3. Check a choice for each story, then talk about what might happen next.
  4. On page two, write or draw four trusted grown-ups and read the list of times to ask for help.

What children practice

  • Thinking through choices and what might happen next
  • Considering other people’s feelings
  • Knowing when and whom to ask for help

Tips for grown-ups

  • Talk through every choice, not just the "best" one.
  • Ask "How do you think they felt?" to build empathy.
  • Help your child name real trusted adults in their life.
